Are you wondering, just how I propose?
Well I had a number of ideas of how to propose, I wanted to make it very
special. I knew I had to do something
to make Helen remember this day forever.
After a lot of thought and searching on the Internet I decided to hire
a "CUPIDS CAPSULE" on the British
Airways London Eye. This is a private capsule flight on the London
Eye with your very own personal champagne waiter and the carriage all
to yourselves.
My problem was keeping this all a secret to Helen and preventing her
from finding out what I had in store. To overcome this, I pretended that
I had won a competition on the London Eye website and that we were getting
a free flight (without here knowing it was a private capsule, I had to
contact the London Eye and get them in on the act as well, pretending
it was all a competition)

How the day actually went....
We got there after getting stuck on the M23 for ages, that was
a bit panicky and arrived just on time. Then there were about three
or four different London Eye staff that were all in on the act saying
things like "congratulations to our competition winners"
and "did you know you have a whole private carriage"
of course I was answering "WOW really I didn't know that!".
I would therefore, like to officially thank the staff on the Eye
for carrying out such a good act.
We were treated like royalty, skipping all the queues with two members
of staff and a Champagne Waiter. Everyone kept saying to us wow
are you getting married? and Helen kept saying "No such luck
I'm afraid" then I had to explain to them about how I "supposedly"
won the competition.
Anyway we started our trip (which in total lasts around 30 minutes)
and I was capturing the sites on London on a DV Camera I had taken
with me. Then we started to get near the top of the eye I asked
the champagne waiter to start filming us. There were about 25 people
in the capsules either side of us and of course these things are
quite see through, seeing as they are made of glass so talk about
paranoia!!
I said how I am pleased about the competition and then turned to
Helen and said it wasn't really a competition but I had been planning
it for months!! I then bent down on one knee and proposed while
she stood there crying with happiness I almost couldn't say it!
I'm not sure I could be that brave again it took some courage to
do that in front of all those people!

We looked up and both capsules were clapping at cheering either side.
After about three quarters of the way round the wheel we were looking
out of the capsule and Helen said "there's my mum!!".
We both looked down and to my surprise her mum and dad and my dad were
on the ground with a great big sign saying "Congratulations Scott
and Helen" so of course everyone on the ground was clapping and
staring at us!.
As we departed from the capsule we were congratulated by both everyone
on the ground and the London Eye Staff. We then went and spent a day in
London on an open top bus seeing all the sites knowing we were going to
be getting married!
I have edited the video of the occasion, which can be seen HERE.
