So what exactly happened while we were on my Stag Do (some events left
out for legal reasons)....
Friday
16th May 2003
So we started at 3:00am Friday morning, the alarm clock went off and
I got up, after not getting much sleep, thinking about what lies ahead.
We all met at my house, including 2 x 8 Seater mini buses that took us
to Gatwick Airport. We arrived at around 5:00am, and done the usual things
you do at the airport, McDonalds, Tea, Smoke and check in. The Flight
took off at 7:15am and all was well, we even had Breakfast and a Gin &
Tonic courtesy of British
Airways which was nice!
| |
We landed at Schipol Airport at 9:15am the)r time,
and it was a lovely hot day, with the sun shining.
We could even walk around in our T-shirts!. On to the double decker
trains, to Central Station, which was only 5 minutes away from our
hotel.
Dodging the trams and cyclists (There are hundreds in Amsterdam)
we found the "Delta Hotel" and all checked in. After a
brief stroll around the area, we soon got a grasp of what this place
was like, bars, beer, women, and sex shops. Most of which were an
eye opener even to me! |
| First port of call was "Grass Hoppers"
where we started the drinking, an event that we knew would be carrying
on for the most of day. Grass Hoppers was one of the designated
"Smokers Cafe's " where those that wanted to, were allowed
to both smoke and purchase over the counter. Those that wanted to
drink beer, ordered what we would be ordering for the rest of our
weekend, Amsterdam's Finest, Heineken.
Another good point about the bars over there, is they sell beer
in Litre glasses rather than pints which saves valuable 'getting
up to go the bar time' |
|
| After here, we decided to go and browse the many "windows
of girls" that so many talk about, which, of course is no bad
thing. Its a perfect way to get a bit of exercise (only by walking
past of course) and admire the views. |
| |
TEASERS BAR / CAFE - We then went on to the Teasers
Bar, and anyone who has been to Amsterdam, will remember this
bar. With absolutely stunning waitresses serving you drinks, (nearly
as nice as my fiancee, but not quite!) its hard to stay away.
"Sean Paul - Gimmie The light" was played, with
one of the teasers girls giving the audience a very pleasing dance,
just what the doctor ordered with his beer. |
| After a few more drinks in different bars, and seeing
the sites of Amsterdam, it was evening time, when the town was lit
up by neon lights. We found a few bars down by the side of the many
canals to sit, drink , and watch the many strange people of Amsterdam
wonder by. This day lasted until around 3:00am, meaning we had been
up the full 24hrs! when we decided it was time to return to the Hotel
Room for some sleep before the next day. |

Saturday 17th May 2003 Saturday
was a similar occasion to Friday, drinking and seeing the sights, with
the exception of going to Amsterdam Square, and also visiting the various
smoking + sex museums that people have spoke about.
Early Saturday evening was an interesting one, we were invited to go
and watch a live sex show, which we decided to see what it was about,
purely for the humour value, as this sort of thing is not on the streets
of Brighton! Half way through the show, a semi clad girl in a bikini was
asking for volunteers from the audience, and of course everyone in our
party found it extremely funny to shout out "STAG Do, STAG Do",
leading to of course, me having to go up on stage.
Here I had to do several very embarrassing dances and posses in front
of the audience, and then getting "done" by a gorilla with a
12 inch banana D**K (I won't go into anymore detail for legal reasons!)
but it was all harmless fun. Then another nights drinking lay ahead. We
went out of the Red Light District for an evening meal, and headed up
to the more "classy" part of Amsterdam, in Rembrant Square.
After eating a large steak, and getting a few 2 litre glasses of Heineken,
we headed back down to near our hotel, for further drinking.
Sunday 18th May 2003
Sunday was another day when most of us awoke with a headache, and
reached for the nurofen. Getting up at 12, we soon got a call from
reception, reminding us that we should have checked out by 11! |
| |
We were all aware that we would have
the hectic journey back later on today, so weren't up for too much,
just a bit of window shopping, and couple of beers.
We headed back to the station at 16:00, after 1 last trip round
the district, saying good-bye to the girls that had passed any minutes
of boredom we had. Both the train + flights back home were fine,
no problems at all, and we arrived safely back in the UK at 18:05. |
All in all, a very successful
and enjoyable trip! I would definitely go back!.
